Casual Friday

For most professionals this look would never cut it for the office, but rather a Saturday. Lucky for me– this look is 100% acceptable for work, but for those who it isn't: apply this to any day of the week that you'd like. By the end of the week I am usually exhausted(!!!) and ready for drink! This look says, "I'm weekend-ready" but is still polished enough to wrap up the work week. While this outfit has a boyfriend-fit vibe, the touches of sparkle amp up the femininity. Paired with a ballerina bun or a fishtail braid will help keep this outfit office appropriate.

The Breakdown:

Top: Zara T-Shirt with Cutwork Detailing in Mid-Blue, $25.90
Jacket: TopShop Marl Ponte Blazer in Grey Marl, £40.00 (*UK only. ~$65)
Necklace: Tiffany & Co. Crown Key Pendant in Sterling Silver, $300
Pants: American Eagle Artist Crop Jean in Antique Light Destroy, $29.99 (*Sale)
Shoes: ALDO Tamez Flat in Multicolored, $27.98 (*Sale)

Total Cost of this Outfit: $448.87

Now, being that $300 of that price accounts for the Tiffany & Co. jewelry, this outfit (specifically the clothes) is really $148.87. Still, it's a spruced-up jeans and a t-shirt look...

Here's How You Can Save on this Look:

  • Omit the Tiffany & Co. necklace and opt for a less expensive silver statement piece, or one you already own. Though, I do encourage wise spending on quality jewelry– especially on timeless pieces like Tiffany & Co. Department stores are often goldmines for nice jewelry... try and stay away from Forever 21 costume jewelry purchases.
  • Swap in your own denim. A simple bootcut or skinny jean would work just as well. Though, I do suggest a medium to dark wash as it is Autumn.
  • Don't feel like buying a piece from overseas? Zara is a hot-spot for blazers, I suggest starting there for a similar style to the TopShop one shown.

By stocking up on things like blazers/jackets and shoes with personality you can really push the amount of looks you're able to create within your closet. And simple color-blocking is always a surefire way to look fabulous!
